The Ghost of High Traffic

The client came to Olab with a paradox: 85% of their traffic was mobile, but mobile sales were 50% lower than desktop. Their store felt "heavy," buggy, and frustrating to navigate with a single hand.

The Olab Fix

Eliminating Layout Shift

We used CSS Aspect Ratio boxes to reserve space for images and ads before they loaded. This prevented the "jumping" effect that caused users to click the wrong links accidentally.

Optimized Click Targets

Every interactive element was resized to a minimum of 44x44px. We re-engineered the mobile menu to trigger from a bottom-sheet rather than a top-corner hamburger.

Checkout Friction Removal

Implemented auto-fill logic and removed 3 unnecessary form fields. Integrated Shopify Pay and Apple Pay as the primary call-to-actions.

JavaScript Tree-Shaking

We removed legacy Shopify apps that were loading unused scripts, reducing the mobile "Time to Interactive" (TTI) by 2.4 seconds.
